Accommodation
Supported Independent Living
Shared or individual homes with support available across the day and night, in ordinary streets close to transport, shops and the people you already know.
Introduction
What this support actually looks like
Supported Independent Living funds the support you receive in the home, not the house itself. For most people it means living with one to three housemates in a regular suburban home, with workers on site for the hours your plan covers.
We take housemate matching seriously. You will meet the people you would be living with, see the house more than once, and have a genuine say before anything is decided. Moving in should feel like a choice, not a placement.

Questions
About supported independent living
SIL funds the support workers who help you in the home. SDA funds the building itself, where the housing is specially designed for high support needs. Many participants have SIL only; some have both. We can explain which applies to you.
Yes. We arrange meet-ups before anyone commits — usually a coffee first, then a visit to the house. Nobody moves in on the strength of a profile on paper.
We work through it with you, your family and your coordinator. Sometimes it is a roster change or a house agreement conversation. If a move is genuinely the right answer, we help you find something better rather than leaving you stuck.
